A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
